This region stretches through the central part of the United States, as well as the southern portion of central Canada. The prairie region in Canada has continental climate. It is a region which is mostly influenced by continental air masses. In the summer it is warm and dry continental air masses that come from the south, while in winter it is cold air masses that come from the north.
