Another name for the governor of a state is Chief Executive. The Chief Executive is a term used in a Prime Minister's government or Presidential.

The position of the Chief Executive is guaranteed by the constitution. Among his powers are overseeing the executive branch of government, preparing executive budgets to be submitted to the legislature, implementing policies, and appointing or firing executive officials.
