What are some of the dangers to the environment (in central america at least 2 ) and the effects of their destruction?

Deforestation is one of the dangers to the environment in Central America. Central American countries have experienced different cycles of deforestation during the last decades due to population growth and logging, which is the cutting of trees. Many forests have been lost in Central America for these reasons.

Other effects of deforestation are the increased susceptibility to fire and the decrease in rainfall rates. Furthermore, deforestation attempts against biodiversity. Animals whose natural habitat is the forest are affected in a very negative way by this phenomena as they cannot survive the deforestation that destroys their homes.

Another danger to the environment in Central America is air pollution. These countries have experienced air pollution for many years as a result of population growth and an increase in the number of vehicles used. It is believed that more than 70% of air pollution in the Central America is caused by vehicular traffic.

An effect of air pollution is the increase in the risk of suffering lung and heart diseases and allergic reactions. Furthermore, air pollution can cause eye and throat irritation and trigger asthma attacks. At the same time, this phenomena can trigger acidification, the combination of sulfuric acid with water droplets capable of harming animals and killing trees.
