Mill's concept of sociological imagination enables individuals to see the relationship between events in their biographies, personal lives, and events in society, history. This mindset offers the ability for individuals to apprehend the relationship between personal experience and the larger community.

•Personal troubles are the private problems undergone within the individual character and the range of their direct relations to others. Mills acknowledged the fact that we run in our personal lives for making choices about our family, friends, groups, school, work, and other issues within our control. When and where will they get the involvement of focusing on college studies and the strict self-discipline needed to transition to college credit, study, a quarter or one semester, projects, papers, group work, field trips, or examinations are the example of public issues.
