Only 62% of women are literate, compared to 77% of men. This makes it even harder for women to be higher educated and make money.

Another way women's unequal treatment in South Asia contributes to poverty rates is health. Women and children make up the highest percentage people with malnutrition - almost 70%. When you are not fed properly, you can't have a proper education or life.
