When Europeans first started to explore Africa, they found a great diversity of cultures.

The Europeans first reached the western coasts of Africa. As they marched deep into the interiors of the continent, they found out that there were a number of tribal communities and each followed a different culture.

The cultures varied vastly from area to area. Despite this kind of diversity, the Europeans found out that there was a common feature in all these communities and that was of the respect that all these communities paid to the nature.
