Less developed countries usually mean that they are more conservative societies, often, though not everywhere, religiously organized states, in which the status of men and women is not equal. Sometimes the reason for the underdevelopment of the state and economic nature is not only ideological and the like, but in less developed countries, men are always favored over women by some unwritten law. So men will have an advantage when it comes to work, education, and literacy itself.
