In most cases child marriage is a scapegoat for different cultures to be able to basically rap e these young women but it is legal AND not technically against their religion. We see this happen in the USA when a girl is rap ed and gets p regnant, sometimes the family will force the girl to marry her rapis t so the church/society doesn't think she had premarital se x. It sounds crazy but there are MANY cases of this happening in America. For the most part it happens in third world countries where women don't have very much power/voice.
