Internal Attribution

This happens when an individual interprets ones behavior as a result of their own actions. For example, if a person gets low marks in a test then the person assigns the reason for this as not having time or could not understand the topics.

External Attribution

This happens when an individual tries to interpret someone else's actions by finding a reason that the other person had. The reason is an external reason and not the fault of the other person. The situation shown here is an example of external attribution.
