People might choose to rent a home rather buy a home because of the following reasons:

1) No maintenance is required.
2) It's easier to move.
3) Avoid owning a depreciating asset.
4) No additional payment for real estate taxes.
5) It doesn't require a huge amount of investment. It can be paid in cash and no need for a big loan to apply.

The best sociological research method would have to be using experiments although it has some disadvantages as well
