Retirement savings, as the name suggests refers to a person's savings which can be used after their retirement.

Explanation:

My retirement plan is a bit complicated but I started planning for it years ago when I began my career. I opened a savings account in my local bank to put some money aside. After that, I learned of my State's 401k plan and started contributing toeards it.

The first few years were difficult since I had very little disposable income but it was for the better. As my career and income grew, I also began to invest in stocks.

Like most things in life, I took a long-term view of how to manage my retirement fund and it is now good enough to support me throughout my elderly years.
