According to the provisions of the Joshua's Law enacted in the state of Georgia in 2007, for a 16 year old to be given a Provisional Drivers License, it is required that he/she must have undertaken an approved drivers training which consists of at least 30 hours of theoretical instructions and 6 hours of practical instruction. The Joshua's Law resulted in stiffer licensing requirements for teenage drivers in the state of Georgia which includes; at least 40 hours of supervised driving with about 6 hours of night time driving, completion of the state approved driver education course.
