I believe that the Constitution had a better separation of powers in comparison to the Articles of Confederation. The Articles lacked a government with an executive or judicial branch to separate the powers among unlike the Constitution. Congress also seemed to lack power where it could not create taxes or build a national military separate from the states. With the Constitution, these issues where addressed and tended to in order to allow for a better separation of powers among the government.
