Why did the people of Germany cheer and support Hitler as a leader?

He promised the people things that they wanted. Germany was humiliated after WW1 and the people of Germany hated that. So when Hitler promised them that he would make Germany feared again they listened and encouraged him.

They were forced to. Hitler had a powerful way of speech, and whoever did not support him was no longer known as a German.
