Imagine that you have been hired as an advertising or public relations consultant. Your task is to find an advertisement that makes use of a social heuristic (e. g., the beautiful = good heuristic or the expensive = better heuristic). In other words, find an advertisement that triggers an automatic tendency (a shortcut) that could ideally make the product/service more appealing. This could be through imagery, music, sounds, behavior, etc. In your paper, describe what heuristic you will focus on. Describe the advertisement that utilizes this heuristic. Your paper should illustrate why focusing on heuristics is a valuable strategy for the company that you work for, in terms of public relations, marketing, or advertising. Your paper should be written scientifically, and it should draw on published psychological research findings. Be sure to explain what a heuristic is in plain English. Your proposal must be scientific, and must describe in detail at least 1 study/experiment that psychologists have performed on the topic (using the writing tutorial videos and writing templates provided).

In 1914, alabama produced 1.7 million bales of cotton, but three years later produced only 515,000, bales. meanwhile, in georgia, 5.2 million acres of land was dedicated for cotton production in 1914, but by 1923 there were just 2.6 million acres used for growing cotton. all of this was the result of the work of a tiny insect: the boll weevil. alabama and georgia first felt the effects of the boll weevil at different times. what would account for this difference in timing?
