After reading the chapter and viewing the video "MEDIA and Waldorf Education," do you think children should or should not be exposed to mass media and popular culture? Does early exposure limit the imagination and stifle intelligence in our society? Were you allowed to consume mass media as a child? Do you allow your children to consume mass media? Would your or the children and families practicing the Waldorf model of education draw a distinction between high and low culture exposure activities as illustrated in the skyscraper model of culture? For example, would taking them to musicals, the opera, the ballet be viewed as beneficial or at least less harmful than watching television or going to the movies? -OR-
