Why did the colonists not seek their independence immediately after the French and Indian War? They were unsure of the Indian situation.
They had no money to sustain themselves.
They were afraid of the retaliation that might come.
They were clueless.
The British Empire was at the height of its power. The colonists were proud to be a part of it.
