How could one enter a higher caste? in the caste system

In the Hindu caste system, the only way you could advance your caste level is to lead a good and ethical life and when you die you would rebirth (rebirth is called samsara) into a higher caste so basically you would have to die and then be judged and you would either remain where you are or rise higher.
