HURRY PLZ Game or Sport?

Golf: Is it a game or sport? Many people argue that golf is a game, not a sport. A game is defined as an activity engaged in for diversion or amusement. A sport is defined as physical activity engaged in for pleasure. Based upon these definitions, golf is a game and not a sport.
When golfers play, they very rarely wear any form of protective gear to protect their bodies from impact that may take place during the game. In fact, golf is very rarely described as the sport of golf. Instead, it is referred to as the game of golf. On the other hand, we hear football, soccer, volleyball, and lacrosse referenced as sports, but the activity of engaging in competitions with other people are games. On its own, this fact should help people who are speculating about golf better understand that the competition is what makes a game, not the actual activity itself.
Ultimately, the question of game or sport may boil down to semantics, or the study of words and their meanings. In this case, it is cut and dry. Golf is a solo activity that is more mental than physical. When people consider the challenges of being an athlete, one thing they very rarely worry about is the competition they will face with their minds. Golf, while it may have some physical elements, is purely mathematics and focus. Athleticism on the other hand, is the inner competition and the drive to win against competitors.

A.

B.
