Why do you think European explorers and colonial settlers thought it was fair to COLONIZE Native peoples’ land in what became the United States?

I would assume because of ego and the spreading of power. I feel that they were very corrupt and didn't care who else it affected. I f it benefited them then who cares about the rest.
