1. Jules Verne, "Seksen Gunde Dünya Gezisi" adlı ro-
manında "Bir insan bir şey hayal edebiliyorsa başka
bir insan bunu gerçeğe dönüştürebilir." diyordu. Onun
bu sözü bazı roman ve öykülenyle de hayat buldu.
Yazdıklarında geçen ve o dönemde uygulamanın
çok mümkün olmadığı çeşitli teknolojiler yıllar sonra
gerçek oldu. Jules Verne'in 1865 yılında yayımlanan
"Ay'a Yolculuk" romanında kahramanlar mermi ben-
zeri bir uzay aracıyla Ay'a gitmek üzere bir yolculuğa
çıkarlar. Ancak Ay'ı incelemek üzere tasarlanan ilk
uzay aracı, romandan neredeyse yüz yıl sonra fırlatil-
di. Bu 1958 yılında Ay'a gitmek üzere fırlatılan ancak
fırlatıldıktan kısa süre sonra patlayan "Pioneer 0” adlı
uzay aracıydı. Ay'a insanlı ilk yolculuksa bundan yak-
laşık on yıl kadar sonra, 1969 yılında gerçekleşti.
