Yesterday, April 12, 1945, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt died in Warm Springs. He had been sitting for a portrait when he suddenly complained of a terrible pain in the back of his head and collapsed. Although his doctor attempted to revive him, President Roosevelt was declared dead at 3:30 p. m. He is survived by his wife and children. Vice President Harry Truman will take the oath of office and will become the 33rd President of the United States.
