What advantage would a physician have by accepting a capitation rate from a managed care plan?

Capitation rate  lower the risk of patient being over treated since the physician became really familiar to the patient, thus reduce unnecessary procedures.
It also cause stronger relationship between patient and the physician since the patient is assigned to that specific physician for an extended period of time.
