Procedure memory stores data related to skill acquisition by repeating an activity that always follows the same pattern. It includes all motor skills, sensory and intellectual, as well as any form of conditioning.

Declarative memory stores information of facts and data brought to our knowledge through the senses and internal processes of the brain, such as association of information, deduction and creation of ideas. Thus, if false information is included, this will distort declarative memory, and hence memory as a whole.
