What was one major result of the north’s victory in the civil war?

The major result of the victory of the North was based on many factors. One of the results was the supremacy of the National Government was upheld.

There are several factors which led to the victory of the north in the Civil War. The population of North was 22 million but the population of South was 9 million in which half of them were slaves. The North was industrially more powerful and the USA had a large percentage of raw materials i.e. 94% of the pig iron and 97% of firearms.  

The North was very richer and has varied agriculture than the southern countries. The Union has a bigger Navy and army which has blocked efforts of the confederacy to trade with European countries. The Confederacy were of the view that France and Britain will come to their aid and rescue because of the necessity of cotton. The northern countries have sufficient amount of cotton.  

The northern countries controlled shipping, railroad avenues that permitted them in trading and get supplies fairly. The slaves went to the Union armies which provide them with more manpower which helped them in industries. The Lee’s offensive war policy led to huge casualties that destroyed a larger part of the Confederate army. It killed many army men and civilians.
