People are more likely to marry individuals with similar social and cultural backgrounds because people have greater access to individuals like themselves.

All over the world, people tend to marry individuals with similar, if not same, cultural and social backgrounds. People engage in such marriages because of the commonalities they both share.

People with the same culture tend to have the same view about the world; even though they are from different backgrounds.

They seem to have almost the same social identity and standards, their habits naturally resemble and conform to one and other; they share the same norms and values about marriage and life in general.

They seem to agree and do things similarly without being compelled, and in such a frame of mind, people tend to marry people with a similar culture and social backgrounds, just like birds of the same feather flock together.

On the contrary, people don't tend to marry or get into long-term relationships with people of different cultures and social standards because of the strings of challenges attached to or linked with cross-cultural marriage.

Marrying from another culture means that you are practicing cross-cultural marriage. However, marriage remains the legally and officially recognized union between a man and a woman in a relationship.
