Describe the relationship that existed between the british and the american indians living in north america

When the British settlers reached Americas and settled there they did not actually know how to survive the winter and how to grow food in their new colonies, it was the American Indians who helped them survive and taught them how to grow corn and other crops. The relationship was of helping nature until the settlers betrayed them and started "The British Empire".
