Iceland is a volcanic island in the North Atlantic Ocean that lies between Greenland and Europe. To geologists, Iceland is a wonderland, filled with geologic activity such as active volcanoes, geysers, and earthquakes. In fact, there is a plate
boundary that runs right through the middle of the island! Many scientists visit the island to study plate motion.
