"Like the Confederate flag, the Stars and Stripes is old, outdated, divisive and incorrect," she wrote in an op-ed. "It no longer stands for democracy and freedom." During the January 6 riot at The Capitol, many Trump supporters waved the American flag, which Grey said was a stain on the reputation of the American flag. Grey also argued that the white of the stars and Stripes "stands for purity," but that "America is not pure anymore. America is broken."
