Consider Aristotle’s account of the relationship between prudence, deliberation, decision, and action (or praxis).How do the cognitive or intellectual capacities at stake in prudence and good deliberation relate to the other ‘virtues of thought,’ on the one hand, and to the ‘virtues of character’ that are said to be formed by habituation, on the other? What do virtuous states of character contribute to acting well, on the one hand, and living well (i. e., being happy), on the other? And what does ‘prudence’ contribute to these same things? If virtue of character is a ‘state that decides,’ does that mean that it directly involves thinking (a la prudence)? Explain.
