What is one reason that the plymouth colony was more successful than the jamestown colony?

The New Plymouth settlers came to settle, their goal was to plant a self sustaining colony on 'new' land whereas those that settled Jamestown were 'Gentlemen Adventurers' whose goal was to find treasure, get rich and get out. The Puritans were determined to settle, had a game plan and ruthlessly worked toward their goals whereas the settlers of Jamestown had a fuzzier concept of what they heck they were doing and how to go about doing it. The Plymouth settles brought their families and forged a compact for mutual cooperation. The Jamestown settlers were mostly single, rarely in accord with one another.
