Bill was in a minor car accident in the grocery store parking lot. he backed his car into another car that was also backing out of a parking space. the other driver honked but bill didn't stop. why not?

Bill might have some hearing problems that he didn't hear the honking. He might also be in that situation of a blind spot where he could not react immediately or decide at once since he was also backing out the same time with the other car and might have thought he was doing it right. It would be better if the grocery store has some attendant that would help guide the customers with the parking area.
