Why are most claim messages written in the indirect approach?

Most claim messages are written in an indirect approach because they are just another form of human interaction but in written-form. Psychologically, it's generally more socially accepted and less physiologically shocking when bad news is delivered in an indirect form as most claims tend to be "bad news."
