Hazard mitigation is important for people living in areas which are regularly affected by natural hazards like high temperature, tornadoes, severe winter temperature and weathers etc. These affects may not happen on a regular basis but it becomes pretty predictable that it will cause a huge amount of damage to property and people whenever it strikes.
