Arousal theory 

According to the arousal theory, individuals seek to main optimum levels of arousal. Some individuals have a high optimum arousal level which means they are drawn to and seek high levels of stimulation through activities such as skydiving, bungee jumping, riding roller coasters, etc. Other individuals who do not have high optimum arousal levels are less likely to be drawn to activities such as riding roller coasters and sky diving.
