A political party’s platform is their formal declaration of intentions, motives, philosophy, main goals and strategies to address the political, economic and social issues of a nation. Its main purpose is to communicate what the party stands for to the general public and to appeal to their support, in order to gain people's vote so the party's candidates can be elected and work toward those stated goals.
