This process occurs when an overlord or vassal grants property of rights over a chosen individual. Usually these inheritances are in a form of property of lands. An overlord or vassal gives something to a chosen individual because they are entitled to a fee or a fealty. Giving a fealty is something an overlord or vassal would do to pay off services or allegiance given to them.
