There are many changes that take place through retirement or when someone is in their later years. many elderly people have to focus on adjustment to retirement-  work/role loss connected to earlier attitudes and behavior such as  income, health, social networks, and identities. physical and mental functioning is also an important factor-  alzheimer's disease-organic condition resulting in brain cell deterioration, and  inability to recall current events.  dealing with death-shift from being independent adult dependency on others for physical or financial assistance. there are also positive factors and new opportunities such as-  retirement and life changes,  travel, college classes, golf, photography,  gray panthers- lobbying group,  volunteer/ mentor, and  planning for the future.
