Ellen Ochoa: became the first Hispanic woman in the world to go to space, for a 9-day mission in 1993.   On January 1, 2013, Ochoa became the first Hispanic and second female director of NASA's Johnson Space Center.

Jose Moreno Hernandez: One of the first latinos in space, but before that he created the first full-field digital mammography imaging system, used to spot breast cancer in its first stages.  Hernández became the first person to use the Spanish language in space while tweeting (2009).
