Take a quick look at the texts you have read in the last two lessons. You don't have to re-read them, but you will need them for this written assignment. The Story Of An Eyewitness by Jack London PDF Version

Excerpt Into The Wild by Jon Krak PDF Version

Now, here is what you have to do. Think about the author's purpose and why London and Krak wrote their texts.

London lived near San Francisco and wrote as an observer/reporter. In a time with no TV or Internet, his words and the photos he took would be all that people would ever be able to know about the earthquake and fire. Add content here.

Krak was a seasoned mountain climber and writer for Outside magazine. He didn't go out to seek danger, but wanted to entertain and be the first author to tell the story of what it's like to climb the world's tallest mountain. His story ended up like an adventure novel or movie.

Also, think about the style each author used. Think about the words they chose and the way they told their stories. Then respond to this prompt with a well-thought and developed answer.
