The study of Anatomy is hugely important for all Artists – especially if interested in the figure. When you understand how the body moves and functions, you are able to design and draw the figure without reference. It helps you to be able to draw the body to feel natural and alive.

In order to be able to draw humans/portraits you must first understand how the body works, what it looks like under the skin, and how it moves in order to create different poses and/or different facial expressions.

representing human figures in abstract forms is often used in the geometric period, not hellenistic  period.   during the hellenistic  period,   aesthetic value derived from creating arts which mimic the actual shape of a certain object or individuals.
