Most cells in our body have two versions of each chromosome (Body cells). These cells are called diploid. We grow and replace these cells with identical cells through a cell division called mitosis.

For sexual reproduction, we need to make cells that have only one version of each chromosome (sex cells). These cells are called haploid. These unique cells are made through a cell division called meiosis.
