For example :

The salts are either of both strong acid and base or a weak acid and / or weak base.

The salts of weak acid / strong base or weak acid/ weak base or strong acid/ weak base furnish ions which further undergo hydrolysis and makes the solution either acid or basic, based on nature of conjugate ions formed.
