Draw the structure of the product formed in the reaction of an epoxide with ethoxide ion. If more than one stereochemical product is possible, draw only one isomer. The starting material is a 6 carbon ring fused to an epoxide through carbons 1 and 2. Both carbons have a wedged bond to the epoxide oxygen and a dashed bond to hydrogen. Step 1 reacts with sodium ethoxide, C H 3 CH 2 O minus. Step 2 is H plus and ethanol.
