The most likely reason for such a request is because of signal interference. Assuming that my router and the admin's router are placed almost close to each other, they can cause interference. If these two routers are using the same operating frequency and channel to broadcast, it might cause severe channel overlap and as a result, create intermittent Wi-Fi connections.
