For the reaction and data in P6-4 B , we now consider the case when the reaction is reversible with K C = 0.025 dm 6 /mol 2 and the reaction is carried out at 300 K in a membrane reactor where C 2 H 6 is diffusing out. The membrane transport coefficient is k C = 0.08 s – 1 . (a) What is the equilibrium conversion and what is the exit conversion in a conventional PFR? (b) Plot and analyze the conversion and molar flow rates in the membrane reactor as a function of reactor volume up to the point where 80% conversion of di-tert-butyl peroxide is achieved. Note any maxima in the flow rates.

Acompressor compresses a gas, a pump compresses a liquid. for a given pressure ratio, why does it take more work to compress a gas in a compressor than a liquid in a pump? a)- for a given pressure ratio the average specific volume for a gas is much higher than the average specific volume for a liquid. b)- there is no difference. the only difference is the amount of heat generated (not work) c)- for a given pressure ratio the average volume for a gas is much higher than the average volume for a liquid. d)-there is no difference.
