Instructions: You may work in groups of 3 MAX. It is not mandatory to work in teams, though it is highly encouraged. ALL names must be in the submitted assignment for everyone to receive credit, Assignment: You are driving home when all of a sudden you realize that there is a 200ft gap in the freeway. Use the engineering design guide attached to find one solution to this problem with the following constraints: 1. You are allowed to call in a helicopter an infinte amount of times to deliver supplies. 2. No bridges or material between the gap. 3. your solution may NOT have any moving parts. 4. Common materials only (Things bought at the store) 5. You may not use any mechanism with moving parts. For example the helicopter or a jetpack. 6. Your Solution must clear the 200 foot distance with proof. A video link, website, etc.. Grading: Grading will be based on correctly using the engineering design process to come up with a potential solution Full credit does not require being able to solve the situation. Full credit means that you or your team filled in the engineering design guide to come up with ideas and a potential resolution.

For the closed feedwater heater below, feedwater enters state 3 at a pressure of 2000 psia and temperature of 420 °f at a rate of ix10 ibhr. the feedwat extracted steam enters state 1 at a pressure of 1000 psia and enthalpy of 1500 btu/lbm. the extracted er leaves at an enthalpy of 528.7 btu/lbm steam leaves as a saturated liquid. (16) a) determine the mass flow rate of the extraction steam used to heat the feedwater (10) b) determine the terminal temperature difference of the closed feedwater heater
