the proctors have three strikes against them in reverend hale's eyes. he is suspicious of them because they do not regularly attend church in the village, they have not baptized their youngest son yet, and john proctor cannot recite all of the ten commandments. i hope this < 3

i'm thinking it would be when compound subjects are joined by or, nor,either-or, neither-nor.

the central idea is basically saying that juveniles that have committed a crime will not have the same consequences as the   adults that have. they will have a softer punishment than what the adults have that is harsh in some ways.
