Topic Options: Pick only ONE #1 Number the Stars takes place during World War II in Denmark. What do you think it would be like to live under those circumstances? What could you do and not do? How would you feel? #2 Number the Stars has many scenes where characters are afraid. Think of a time when you were afraid. What happened? Who was there? Would you feeld differently about this situation if it occurred today? #3 In Number the Stars, Ellen has to act, or pretend to be something she isn't, in order to save her life. She must be very brave. Write about a time when you had to be brave. Did you act like everything was fine to protect someone or yourself? How did you feel?
