I believe that his message is that people should do something in order to save the natural environment. He is talking about how due to human actions the natural world is falling apart - there are fewer and fewer species, they are becoming extinct, we are cutting down forests and woods and destroying our environment. He is implying we should stop this and actually do something to save the environment.
